An accomplished pharmacist, Rita Patel owned and operated Shayona Pharmacy in Perth Amboy, NJ, for 18 years. The business provided personalized service to customers dealing with a variety of ailments and furnished extra support to customers with disabilities by delivering their medications directly to them. Under the direction of Rita Patel, the pharmacy earned the Welcome New Business of the Year Award from the town of Perth Amboy, NJ.

Before acquiring Shayona Pharmacy, Ms. Patel gained hands-on experience in her field while serving as a pharmacist for Walgreens locations in two states. Her professional background also includes pharmacy positions with Rite Aid Pharmacy, Community Pharmacy, and Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.

In preparation for her career, she enrolled at the A.R. College of Pharmacy at Sardar Patel University in Vallabh Vidyanagar, Gujarat, India. While earning her bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, she helped other students by tutoring them in English, science, and mathematics. After emigrating to the United States, she took and passed the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Committee certification test.
