About me
I’d love to share a little more about me before you navigate through this journey of mine. I am a Philly-based Lifestyle Blogger, Brand Influencer, and Peer Mentor. I have many years of experience in business development and building relationships and amazing connections and like to call myself a “Serial Networker.” I acquired and maintained these relationships through networking face to face or on social media. Most importantly, my goal is to make helpful and strategic connections for others. Why else would I be doing this? One of my most important roles I have is a mother. I almost can’t believe I have an 18 year old daughter (she turns 18 in February 2017). For some reason, my daughter, nieces, and their friends always confided in me. This is not a bad thing at all, it’s a blessing. But I must admit I was a little scared at first. But I could tell God was working and I was eventually led to begin a mentoring group for teen girls. I began the Life as Diamondz Mentoring Group for Teen Girls to inspire and empower teen girls life skills, networking skills, college prep, encouragement, and inspiration. Since June 2013, I’ve had the amazing opportunity of mentoring almost 25 young ladies. I am a big believe of the importance of teaching our future leading ladies and mentoring them to become confident, unique, and ambitious young ladies. In the past few years I found the love of writing while working as an Instructional Designer and Content Developer in my Project Management career. However, I began to love writing more about life and all that I experience as I began to write as a contributing blogger for Pauleanna Reid, www.pauleannareid.com. I was also recently featured on Kyshira Moffett’s blog site, www.thisishermovement.com. In addition to writing and contributing to other sites, I recently finished Pauleanna Reid’s mentorship program, New Girl on the Block. I was equipped with innovative solutions to get ahead and with my experience in writing and mentoring; I can proudly say that I am now partnering with New Girl on the Block as a Peer Mentor. As a part of the organization, I can now help convert shy woman into career-savvy and confident leading ladies, using unique teaching methods and a curriculum designed to educate and inspire.
Here’s the Big News! On January 13, 2017, I turned 40. Turning 40 is more than just an age milestone for me. It is a time of transition and a time of LAUNCHING, which is my theme word for 2017. I am now moving into the position God always had for me. Therefore, my birthday gift to myself is the launch of my own Blog. Kristylynnlifestyle.com is where you will read more about me as a wife and single mother, and a working God-fearing woman pursuing my passion and purpose. I launched my brand, KristyLynn and blog site during my birthday month as a part of me #launching40. You can also find some of my writing on different platforms including Medium.com and OnMogul.com.
I’m looking forward to sharing how I’ve overcome my own personal, professional, and financial obstacles. It allows me to encourage others and show them that they can do the same and be all you can be even while facing trials and tribulations.
I want to conquer life by making sure people know that the only way up is to bring others with you. My favorite quote is from the late and great Maya Angelou, “We Rise by Lifting Others.” I know that the only way you get to the next level is to remember “you are one decision away from a different life.”
