About me
Since the days in my college there has always been a long continued debate over the role of, rather the value of mental state during sickness over the physical symptomatology and vise versa in case analysis. Though from the time we are connected with the database of Dr. Hahnemann and Dr. Kent, we still somewhere show utter lack in getting tuned up with the writings of our masters.
The eyes communicate that the body is suffering badly but it usually lacks in the vision that, in the relative understanding of this; the body is suffering and the way in which it is suffering is rather of the prime concern than the body itself. Many a times nothing ails a patient, he has no discomfort or uneasiness still he is not feeling fine. Basically it is always the man (psyche aggregates) who is disturbed and cause the sickness and disease. Many a times we come across normal lab values but still see that individual is suffering.
Here we must have to recapitulate ourselves with the masters and try to understand the man in better sense. See what Dr. Kent had guided us,
“Just as soon as one lives a disorderly life he is susceptible to outside influences and the more disorderly he lives the more susceptible he becomes to the atmosphere he lives in. When man thinks in a disorderly way he carries out his life in a disorderly way and makes himself sick by disorderly habits of thinking and living. This deranged mental state. Hahnemann most certainly recognize, for he tells us everywhere in his teaching to pay most attention to the mental state. We must begin with such signs as represent to the mind the beginning of sickness and this beginning will be found in the mental disorder as represented by signs and symptoms and as it flows on we have the coarser manifestation of disease.
The first of the man is his voluntary and the second of man is his understanding, the last of man is his outermost.
Now, as the mental symptoms are the most important in a proving, so are the mental symptoms in sickness the most important. Hahnemann directs us to pay most attention to the symptoms of the mind, because the symptoms of the mind constitute the man himself. The highest and innermost symptoms are the most important, and these are the mind symptoms.”
Once we understand this that, THERE ARE NO DISEASES BUT ONLY SICK PEOPLE we tune ourselves with the masters.
