Deepti Sutaria is the first woman cyber crime expert of India, active since year 1997 when the IT ACT 2000 WAS YET TO BE SCRIPTED for the cyber crimes and were just mushrooming In India .
From the journey of a young practising lawyer to a judge, she has been in judiciary for good 18 years.
She has WORKED IN THE TEAM OF LATE PRAMOD MAHAJAN AND DEWANG MEHTA THE IT man and she was the first woman to be in the team to define IT ACT 2000 and hold the first conference on cyber crimes in India .
Being a daughter of an Army officer, her first book was dedicated to all the Army officials of India. She is a woman who was chosen in JAGS but she ruled it out to reach on the list of meritorious judges of India and chose to stay close to solving the common man’s day to day problems through the judiciary.
After marriage she resigned and chose to be homemaker and a mother which had been her priority like most other women. Later after a few years she chose to save women and children against online abuse by being an Internet Safety Advisor. An M.L. from London she excels in halting online abuse against women and children.
From steganography to Trojan Horse From cyber terrorism to the Cyber economy she can talk on any topic related to cybercrime, including phishing, Hacking and much more .She also deals with cyberbullying cases in schools and in social media she works as a cybercop with garbed criminals who act as destructive elements and abuse women in social media.
Advisor to NASSCOM IT COMPANIES she has attended seminars and conferences across the globe and has had the opportunity to be one of their eminent speakers. She is the first woman cyber crime expert of India of the five elite Cyber Lawyers - Pawan Duggal, Karnika Seth, Rodney Ryder and Deepti Sutaria are a team together. Deepti is currently working for the Government as Internet safety advisor and heads BJP legal affairs at Maharastra and Delhi.
She has authored three books on cyber crimes and the fourth is expected to come out towards the end of this year - “Confessions of a Lawyer “. She is also making a short film - “Mom I dunn wanna have horlicks nemore” for the cyber safety of kids and for the film to reach across schools. Ms. Sutaria recently went to USA to attend conference and is working with the present government to make cyber courts in India to deal with cyber crimes .
