Alexis has dedicated her career to building and launching innovative and compelling ecommerce experiences for consumers.
Alexis is the CEO and Co-founder of Project September, a social shopping app that launched in April 2016, which bridges the gap between online shopping and social browsing.

Project September is designed as a shoppable, shareable digital magazine spread, where the world's most stylish people show you exactly where and how to buy their favorite brands. Each image features one or more shoppable items that can be tapped and instantly purchased. Anyone can join and creators can earn a commission from the sale of items purchased through their work.

In 2007, Alexis became a founding CEO of Gilt, working to expand the company’s sales categories from women’s brands to include lifestyle categories such as sporting goods, home decor, children’s apparel, local experiences and luxury travel services.

Prior to founding Gilt, Alexis served as general manager and business development director for AOL’s ecommerce businesses. In 1998, she became an early member of the eBay team, where she helped launch the company’s first strategic planning group and also launched eBay Canada, which grew to become Canada’s largest ecommerce business. She later helped found eBay Motors, which grew to over $2.5 billion in gross sales and continues to be the largest category of goods sold on eBay today.

Alexis holds a BA and MBA from Harvard University. She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and Springboard Enterprises’ Media/Tech Council. She also serves as Director for National Audubon Society and for Girls Who Code. In 2009, Alexis was named to Crain’s “40 Under 40” and was awarded Ernst and Young’s New York Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2010.

Alexis currently resides in New York City.
