Hey fellow bloggers/audience...this is slightly different. It's like how do you tell your story, how do you talk about your heritage, how do you talk about your failures and your successes. It's all intertwined in the premise. As an African-Canadian I created this spoken word chant to voice out the need for change in the social context. Writing this spoken word chant/poetry started with a fuzzy elation, a definite comprehension of how poetry and art is a reflection of society. This is an experimental/avant-garde spoken word chant centered around Africa's cultural and musical influence; Afrobeats/Fela's Afrobeats ( a prominent music genre in Nigeria/in Africa as a whole). And yes, Afrobeats has largely contributed to social change. Likewise, it has the immense ability to confront social/economic challenges present in the society. Afrobeats is here to stay.
