"Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath.
And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself.
And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.
And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God." Luke 13:10-13
The 2004 film "Woman Thou Art Loosed" loosely based on the biblical story of the Woman healed of an infirmity. In the film turned book created by TD Jakes it tells the story based on the multitude of 1 in 3 Girls particularly of color (For Caucasian the number is 1 in 5) who are sexually abused, raped, sex trafficked etc between the ages of small children to aged 25. This trauma has been known to lead survivors down dark paths in life because of the trauma survivors encountered by way of the attacks. The film is told through a fictitious character named, Michelle, and her path to healing as well as redemption. I do advise a trigger warning as a couple of the clips from the film are forthright about the nature of sexual violence in real life involving young Girls. So viewer discretion is advised.
