As I was scrolling through Facebook one day, I came across an article about the "Halo eye." A makeup trend where you use a darker shadow shade on the inner and outer corner of your eye with a lighter, usually metallic or shimmer shadow, on the center.
The problem, you ask? There was one actual picture of a halo eye in the entire article about halo eyes. This bothered me more than I can describe. To many, this may not be an issue, but to me, a self taught makeup artist, this is a problem! Many people who aspire to be makeup artists or many makeup enthusiasts use articles, videos, and pictures to learn more about trends and eye shadow looks. Misinformation and using the incorrect pictures in an article about something can cause the reader to feel as though they're doing something incorrectly, or maybe they are trying to learn a certain trend and can't find the correct information.
Which lead me here; Writing my own beauty articles, about current trends, up coming products, how-to pictorials, and all around getting into the journalism side of the beauty community. Like any article, I feel as though beauty articles should be written with great detail after extensive research. Makeup isn't that big of a deal to some, but to me it is my life. It is my biggest outlet in expressing myself and giving me the confidence I need every day.
With this being said, I'd like to introduce myself. I'm Vanna, this is the first time I've ever written anything on a platform other than Tumblr or my personal facebook. I am a self taught makeup artist, a beauty enthusiast, and a lady in love with self expression. I hope to write many more beauty related articles and maybe dabble in some personal experiences.
