College rankings are confusing, contradictory, and usually overrated. But there is undeniably a lot of value placed on them. I remember when I was looking for schools to apply to, I would look at the U.S. News and World Report's rankings. I also remember the pride I felt when I got into Wash U, because of it's high ranking. And I remember how disappointed I was when I saw our ranking drop in the U.S. News and World Report from #15 to #18.
Then, when I saw this Washington Post article that places Wash U at #11, I felt a lot of pride. It's great to have our school recognized, even if the rankings are overrated.
