This List of Scholarships for Females Could Enable Your College Dreams to Come True

Fact. College is expensive. And tuition is only increasing year after year.

However, there are some amazing scholarships out there (some just for women!) that should definitely be on your radar if you or someone you know is gearing up to head to university in the next few years. This list is also helpful for those who are currently enrolled and might be in need of financial assistance to get through the full program.


Computer Science, Engineering & Business-Focused Scholarships:

Best Value Schools STEM Scholarship for Women: Female U.S. students who are majoring in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics at the undergraduate level. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher, and an SAT score of 1100 or higher; $2,000 annually, non-renewable; Application Deadline: October 

Dell Scholars Program: High school seniors; In addition to winning $20,000, students become part of a Dell Scholar community. These scholars also receive the latest technology equipment from Dell so that they can succeed in college. They receive textbook credits, PCs, laptops, printers, ink, and other supplies; Application Deadline: unknown

ESA Foundation Computer and Video Game Scholarship: U.S. high school seniors and undergraduate students who are pursuing degrees leading to a career in computer and video game arts. Students must be female or a minority, and must have a grade point average of 2.75 or higher; $3,000 annually, non-renewable; Application deadline: May

The Generation Google Scholarship: Created to assist aspiring computer scientists excel in technology and become leaders in the field; $10,000; Application deadline: March 5th (for high school seniors) and January 15th for current college students

General Electric: Women entering fields such as engineering or business; up to $5,000; Application Deadline: unknown

Microsoft Technical Scholarships for Minorities and Women: Must be enrolled in university and actively pursuing a degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, math, physics, or other STEM-related field; either full or partial tuition for the entire academic year; Application deadline: unknown

NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing: U.S high school females with grade point average of 3.0 or better; a $500 cash award; a laptop computer (provided by Bank of America); an engraved award for both the student and the student's school; and a trip to attend the Bank of America Technology Showcase and Awards Ceremony; Application Deadline: accepted between September 15th and October 31st 

NSHSS Foundation STEM Scholarship: U.S. high school seniors who will be attending college in the fall. Applicants must be a member of an underrepresented group, have a minimum 3.5 grade point average and be pursuing a major in a STEM field; Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics; $1,000 annually, non-renewable; Application Deadline: unknown

STEM Scholarship for Women: Female currently attending or enrolled at an accredited post-secondary institution (under-graduate or graduate) and be majoring full-time in a science, technology, engineering or mathematics program; $2,000 scholarship, twice per year; Application deadline: October 31st or April 15th


Creative Scholarships:

Unpublished Writer Award: U.S. female students with an interest in writing; to apply, students must submit an unpublished work of fiction; $500 annually, non-renewable. The winner will be invited, along with a guest, to attend the annual awards ceremony; Application Deadline: March

Vocal Music Scholarship: U.S. female high school seniors who are current vocal students and attend a Long Island (NY) high school. The student must have a grade point average of B (3.0) or higher, and plan to study voice or music education in college; $500 annually, non-renewable; Application Deadline: April


Humanitarian Scholarships:

Margaret McNamara Memorial Fund: Must be female currently attending college who has “a record of service to women and children and a commitment to improve the lives of women and children in developing countries”; $12,000: Application deadline: January 


International Scholarships for outside United States:

International Fellowship – American Association of University Women: Available to female international students pursuing graduate or postgraduate study; $30,000; Application deadline: December 2015

NYU Wagner Public Service Fellowships: Must be citizen of Africa; The awards for either program will support tuition, housing, travel to and from the United States and a small stipend to cover books and miscellaneous expenses; Application deadline: January-May (annually)

P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship Fund: Female students who are not U.S. or Canadian citizens. Applicants must be studying in a graduate program in the United States with at least one full year of academic coursework left to be completed; up to $10,000 annually, renewable for one year if the student continues to meet eligibility requirements and submits a renewal form; Application deadline: November 2015


Minority Scholarships:

Gates Millenium Scholars: Must be U.S. citizen who is African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian American/Pacific Islander or Hispanic American; up to $12,227 per academic year; 2016 applications available in August 2015

Ron Brown Scholar Program: Must be African American high school senior; up to $40,000; Application deadline: November

Women’s Self Worth Foundation Scholarship: Must be Native American/Alaska Native undergraduate students who are enrolled full-time in a tribal college or university; $6,000; Application deadline: May 31st, 2015


Mom Scholarships:

Scholarships4Moms Scholarship: Women in the United States; $10,000 annually, non-renewable; Application deadline: May


Sports Scholarships:

Women's Western Golf Foundation Scholarship: Must be female high school senior who is involved in golf; $2,000; Application deadline: April


Other:

B. Davis Scholarship: High school seniors, juniors and students currently registered at post-secondary institutions; $1,000; Application deadline: May 25, 2015

College Jumpstart Scholarship:10th-12th graders, college students and non-traditional students; $1,000; October 17, 2015

McDonald’s, Ronald McDonald House CharitiesHigh school student 21 years and under; $1,000 and up; Application deadline: January

Milton Fisher Scholarship: Applicant must be (a) a high school junior, or (b) a high school senior, or (c) any person entering an undergraduate degree program* in the fall after the application deadline or the following spring, or (d) a student in the first year of an undergraduate degree program*; up to $20,000 each to applicants who demonstrate exceptional innovation and creativity; Application Deadline: Unknown

MoolahSPOT $1,000 Scholarship: Any student at least 16 years or older who plans to attend, or is currently attending, college or graduate school. Students may be of any nationality and reside in any country. Students may study any major or plan to enter any career field at any accredited college or graduate school. Although applicants can be from any country, all applications must be completed in English; $1,000; Application Deadline: August 2015

National Pathfinder ScholarshipU.S females entering sophomore, junior and senior of college; $2,500 annually, non-renewable; Application Deadline: around June every year

P.E.O. STAR ScholarshipsHigh school seniors (Women Only); $2,500; Application deadline: November 2015

Top Ten List Scholarship 2015: US students who are 13 years of age and older and who are currently enrolled (or enroll no later than fall of 2020) in an accredited postsecondary institution of higher education; $1,500 annually, non-renewable; Application Deadline: December 2015

2015 PFLAG National Scholarships: Graduating senior entering higher education for the first time, this calendar year, self identify as a gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) or an ally Demonstrate an interest in service to the LGBT community; $1,000 up to $5,000 for the winners; Application Deadline: Unknown
