For the fans who love fun and engaging podcasts, here is a new show that will soon be another subject of conversation for many. The podcast is called "The Nod."
Affectionately titled after the nonverbal cue many Black folks use to indicate acceptance or acknowledgement, Gimlet Media’s new podcast series, The Nod affirms the Black experience by presenting specific stories that are fun, introspective and personal to Black listeners.
On Wednesday, July 12, 2017, fans and press were treated to a preview of the show set to premiere on Monday, July 17, 2017. In advance of the show’s premiere, co-hosts and best friends Brittany Luse (For Colored Nerds, Sampler) and Eric Eddings (For Colored Nerds, Mogul) brought together some of the biggest influencers in Black media and culture for this launch celebration event.
Joining the conversation was digital strategist and freelance journalist Aminatou Sow of Call Your Girlfriend podcast and staff writer at The New Yorker, Vinson Cunningham. During the their talk, important and fun issues were discussed and each panelist gave their unique take on it.
Each panelist used their wit and intelligence and whether purposeful not, left the audience in utter stitches from the comments. The preview of the podcast was followed by a party where the hosts mingled.
After speaking with the Gimlet Media, CEO he even mentioned how engaged he was after first hearing the Brittany and Eric and he knew he wanted to work with them and just from the preview, he made the right choice.
On Monday, July 17th, the podcast will be available on iTunes, Google Play, Spotify, and Apple Podcast.
