It came out that in an interview in Las Vegas, Scott Pruitt, Donald Trump's pick for chief of the EPA doesn't think there's enough evidence to suggest global warming is bad. Yes, you read that right. He admits that global warming exists, but asks:
“I think there are assumptions made that because the climate is warming, that that necessarily is a bad thing. Do we really know what the ideal surface temperature should be in the year 2100, in the year 2018?"
Is this really the world we're living in, where the person who should have more authority than anyone on climate change is contradicting what scientists know to be true? Is our government really willing to put forward these ridiculous proposals because they value contributions from coal companies so much? Unless Pruitt doesn't mind all the fish dying, skin cancer rates going up, and Italy slipping into the ocean, global warming is bad. But hey, maybe he just really hates fish and pizza. Who knows?
I feel like I'm living in a fantasy world... Anyone else?
