Staying True to Yourself and Finding Your Inner Truth

Rebecca Anne Epstein is getting ready to drop her new Single “The One” Produced by T-Man dropping on Friday August 17th. She was born a small town in Florida with parents that were both musicians. After teaching herself piano and singing from a young age, she was able to start taking over the live show scene in South Florida by the age of 15. From 18 and on she was a star at FSU and the town of Tallahassee knew her as the Singer – Songwriter destined for fame. One year ago, she moved to Los Angeles and really started honing her craft and taken her music to the next level. I got the chance to catch up with Rae and learn a little more about who she is. Here’s what she had to say.

How would you describe yourself in 3 words?

Humble, Passionate, Bad Ass

Who was your role model as a child?

My Dad

How did you get started in music?

Both of my parents were in a classic rock band before I was born. I have always known that music was my destiny and my love for it has always been contagious. Being in voice lessons before you can read doesn’t hurt as well.

How has being a music artist changed your life?

I have always been an artist but after college couldn’t imagine my day to day life being anything else but making music.

What is the most rewarding part of your work?

Knowing that words or melodies that came out of me and were created have helped other people. Whether someone seeing me at a show or them listening to a record, knowing that my craft is changing people’s lives for the better is the most rewarding thing I could ever ask for.

The most important thing when your making music is?

Capturing the feeling of what it is at that very moment because the now is what I am trying to convey to my audience. So they can feel like they are a part of my song writing process and feel the same emotions.

What’s your advice for artist looking to get to the next level in their career?

Staying true to yourself and finding your inner truth and knowing in yourself ego that you are the shit no matter what anyone else says.
