Meet Debbie Clarke, Account Manager. She will give you the inside scoop on what it feels like to be part of our Solutions Sales Team at Philips, a top health tech company.
1) Why did you join Philips?
I joined Philips almost 8 years ago because of the integrity of the company, the quality of the products and the resources provided to support the field sales teams.
2) Describer your journey at Philips.
I have the pleasure of working on a solutions sales team of Clinical Specialists, Solution Designers, Solution Architects for multi-hospital accounts. Our goal is working collectively as a unit in order to obtain the results we established. This work is challenging however, it is exciting to see how our solutions improve the care of patients after we convert a hospital to our products. Philips provides you the freedom to explore outside the box ideas and flexibility. For me, it’s a win-win situation!
3) How does Philips prepare solution sales employees?
They provide specific resources for the sales department like on-the-job training with mentoring sessions for support and professional growth.
4) What does Philips represent to you?
Philips represents integrity and quality. It is more than a job because the impact is infinite. We are more than medical devices. Our focus is about "solution’s selling" that make the lives of our customers easier.
The funny part is that Philips has become like a family to me. To the point that my daughter was always fascinated by my job so she decided to to work here too, she started here career as a Product Sales Quoting Specialist.
5) What advice would you give to a candidate considering Philips?
First, you genuinely need to be a “self-starter” that can successfully adapt to technology changes. Secondly, you have to be a “self-study” person to push yourself towards new learning opportunities using all the resources Philips offers. It is vital to be open and reach out for help when you need it. If you work hard, you have have the opportunity to excel. As a reward, our commissions are very lucrative.
6) Have you ever met someone whose life has been impacted by one of our products?
Actually, my friend’s daughter was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma and our monitors allowed the doctors to decide on the cancer treatment quicker and monitor his chemo treatments real time.
It is very rewarding when you see or hear stories of patients whose treatment was improved with the use or our products and can actually leave the hospital sooner
