I joined a company in 2017, and I was excited as I was struggling to get a good position for a very long time . Though the position didn't not match my educational background, but I was happy because it was a global company and during the interview the Manager told me there are opportunities for advancement and growth . I joined this company with high Hope's and I learned many things which I am grateful of. One of the most important things I learned is find new opportunity when you face harassement especially by a Senior Manager. I was harassed by a colleague also, who was working there for 15 years and he was close friends with the Senior Manager. I also found out the position I was working in had high turnover, may be because of the reason they were doing this to previous employees also. They never complained and left?
When people in a company are working for a long time and you face harassement do you just leave ?Because when I complained to HR , he took it very casually because he was leaving the company as well. My Senior Manager and I had a meeting with HR where I found out that my Senior Manager had a meeting before this with HR. This shocked me because HR should have involved both of us in the first meeting. I felt that the Senior Manager had already influenced HR . No action was taken against the Senior Manager or the colleague. I wanted to leave but not without finding a new job because I had too many stuff to take care , plus the company was a good one and I did not want to take any further action or go to our complain hotline department that send complain directly to CEO. I kept quiet and everything seem normal , but one day I was called in where I met with Senior HR and was laid off.
I felt really helpless and very weak. I was harassed for more than a year and when I complained I was let go after 2 months.
