If you've never been to New York City, there's only one word to describe it- crammed. Everywhere you turn there are people within exremely close distance. Walking down the street is constant bumping and swerving through human traffic.
This weekend, whilst on a school trip, we were walking through a severely congested crosswalk on our way to dinner. That's when I felt it- someone's hand grabbing my bum. My boyfriend was walking in front of me, allowing for fear to wreak open onslaught upon my mind, knowing his wasn't the hand on my body. I turned in an attempt to find the source, but there were too many people.
Obviously, I was quite shaken for the rest of the night, my mind running non-stop in attempt to process the event. Once I began to feel a bit better, I felt ready to tell my teacher. Upon telling him he told me to, "Shake it off and take it as a compliment."
Nonetheless, I tried my best to enjoy the rest of the trip despite these events. I am still quite shaken but I am coming to terms with it.
