Meet Marissa Scognamiglio: Vice President of Rutgers Mogul

Either often found reporting sideline at Big Ten games or blogging my life away, I am a sophomore at Rutgers University majoring in Journalism and Media studies. I aspire one day to have a career in either radio or tv sports/entertainment broadcasting, although for now I am extremely grateful for the time and opportunities available right here in New Brunswick. I am involved in Rvision, which is Rutgers broadcasting department for the Big Ten Network- which I am very excited to get involved in this semester. If not working at Rvision, I split my time between reporting for the Daily Targum, cohosting a radio talk show at Rutgers own WRSU, and of course, balancing my schoolwork.

I absolutely love staying active, and take advantage of all of the free fitness classes offered here. I have also been pescatarian for a little under a year now since I disagree with the hateful practices of the meatpacking industry. I have been debating switching to a vegetarian, although I will miss sushi (immensely).

I absolutely love to read, and my current favorite book is The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao- I highly recommend to all. Although I also start every morning by reading Cosmo articles on snap, so I have a very diverse reading interest.

Some of my favorite things include dogs (of all shapes and sizes, I will have my own dog farm one day), soft cuddly blankets, mint chocolate chip ice cream, Parks and Recreation, The Office, the color blue, and spending time with friends.

If you have any other questions for me or want to get to know me better, please comment below. I am very much looking forward to my time here as the Mogul chapter VP, and look forward to expanding Mogul's messages and presence on campus!

Yes indeed.   If you want to become mentally and emotionally healthy which to me are the most important I would thoroughly recommend the system I used (The Isha Judd system).   This system allows you live in abundance, free from limiting thoughts that hold us in limitation and fear and stop up being as great as we really can be.  These thoughts stop us being fully ourselves, transparent, open and fully loving in our relationships.  The system starts by bringing us into a state of love consciousness which is a place of peace and joy that is within all humans. and when we start to anchor in that place we begin to live in joy and peace and from a place of courage and adventure.   We stop needing others (partner, parents, friends, colleagues etc) to make us feel secure and to feel good enough and instead we start to experience an internal abundance that allows us give and be the source of wellbeing for others.

There are lots of seminars of various duration on the system from 3 days to 6 months.  If you have time to really treat yourself and want to really transform then the six months is incredible.   I have a lovely video on it.  If anyone wants information just let me know.  I'm passionate about this.

Switching to Vegetarianism is a huge step. I became Paleo (when I'm not cheating) 2 years ago so I totally understand the need to be healthier.
