She's 5'7, afraid of butterflies, and ready to take the world by storm.
Fresh out her teens, Kayla Nicole just started her junior year at Nazareth College, where she majors in Biomedical Science and triple-minors in Cognitive Neuropsychology, Communications and Media, and Pre-Med. She was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and she’ll never let you forget it. When she's not in the lab making things explode or ripping her hair out in the library, Kayla likes to dabble in a few hobbies.
She's an amateur iPhone photographer.
She's a pageant girl.
She’s a traveler who’s almost never home.
She’s an ice cream connoisseur.
She’s a lover of sunsets.
And most importantly, she loves to give back. She was a Girl Scout for 7 years before starting college, and, through this work, has been awarded two bronze-level Presidential Volunteer Service Awards bestowed by former president Barack Obama.
At Nazareth, she tutors and mentors inner-city students, is a conversation partner for international students, and is the secretary of the Millennial Action Council. She has been nominated for Nazareth College’s President’s Community Service in 2016 and 2017— and plans to work even harder to secure the 2018 award.
She understands how important it is for people to use their privilege and influence, even if it exists in the smallest amount, to help the communities that molded them.
Kayla has big aspirations for the future, but is taking her time through the journey, making mistakes and learning lessons along the way. In her twenty years of life, she has come very far but she knows there’s still a long way to go, and she’s excited to see where life takes her. She’s honored to be here on Mogul alongside so many amazing women. She’s Kayla Nicole Sinclair, and in the world through which she travels, she is endlessly creating herself.
