Melyssa Guzmán is pursuing a communications degree while trying to be more involved on campus. Some of her involvements is being the social media chair for Society19's UIC chapter as well as being a college blogger for Society19. She hopes to create a podcast or a YouTube focused on women discussing their opinions on various topics. Melyssa is very passionate about womxn empowerment as well as being an intersectional feminist.
As the picture above shows, Melyssa is a coffee lover and loves to go on adventures to various coffee shops and restaurants. Her favorite restaurants in Chicago are Goddess and the Baker, Juice House, Molly's Cupcakes, La Haciendita etc. Melyssa has many more restaurants to go explore and take Instagramable pictures around Chicago.
Aside from exploring her homecity of Chicago, Melyssa also loves to travel with her Mother to various destinations. The places she has traveled to is San Francisco, Los Angeles, Miami, Orlando, and various parts of Mexico. Other destinations she wants to visit are Australia and do a tour of Europe.
After graduating from UIC, Melyssa hopes to move across the country to Los Angeles, her favorite city, and work in the entertainment fields as a TV personality. Almost three years ago she visited the E! studios and knew she wanted to work there in the future. Beside from television, Melyssa hopes to be a freelance writer for various magazines. She is building her portfolio by writing contributing pieces for Her Campus as well as Society19, which can be found on her blog.
