From finding out about the SATs in August, to having exactly one shot to nail them in October, and subsequently going through the long-winded, tedious and very stressful college application process, it’s finally over (or perhaps it’s just begun)! Throughout this process, I fell in and out of love with many schools; dealt with rejection for the first time in my life, and waitlists, and got to know my family on a deeper level, as they had to open up to me about their financial standings, so I could apply for aid. Six, stressful, essay-editing, months later, I can say: it was worth it. Yesterday, I confirmed my spot in the University of Pennsylvania, class of 2022!!!
I can hardly believe I am able to say those words. My heart quickens at the thought of it, because I’m so scared of the future: scared to move to a place I’ve never seen before, to leave my friends, and boyfriend and family, to brave a whole new education system.
The journey has just begun, and although I’m afraid, I can’t wait.
If any of you have any advice for me, I’d be very grateful, so feel free to leave it below.
