Dale Chihuly's Icicle Sculpture at Sleeping Lady A Mountain Resort
In my opinion Leavenworth, WA is one of the most picturesque towns in Washington State and it is only a little over two hours from Seattle. During the month of December, the Christmas Lighting Festival is a must see. This beautiful Bavarian town in the Cascade Mountains lights up for the holidays with over a million lights!
We have visited Leavenworth many times and hands down, our best lodging experience has been at the Sleeping Lady A Mountain Resort.
The resort sits on 67 acres, alongside Icicle Creek and only three miles from downtown Leavenworth. Sleeping Lady is the perfect destination for a romantic getaway for two, family reunions, weddings, retreats or corporate events. The reasons to make this your Leavenworth home away from home are many.
Your senses will be heightened as you walk on the lit paths towards your cabin or to any of the resort's many facilities. You will hear only the water flowing over the rocks on the waterfall near the Grotto or on Icicle Creek, if you look up on a clear night you will see the silhouettes of the tall evergreens against the star-filled sky. Only peace and tranquility will surround you.
Beautiful rustic and cozy cabins are nestled in small clusters around the property. Below is the Alcove room, which sleeps up to three people.
Attention pet owners, there are 6 Canine Companion rooms for your four-legged family members too!
The room packages include all you can eat full breakfast and dinner at the Kingfisher Restaurant and Wine Bar. The onsite Organic Garden and local farms provide the ingredients for the delicious menu. (Sample Menu) The food and service is outstanding.
On your way to your cabin, you may see the Grotto Bar, which is a great place to stop in for a drink and snack or sit outside by the waterfall.
(Your room key will open the following indoor amenities.) Once you pass the Grotto Bar, continue on the path and you will find the Play Barn. What a beautiful large space to enjoy a game of billiards, foosball and/or ping pong with your friends and family! There are even puppets for the children to create their own puppet show on stage!
Right across from the Pop and Ice Hut is the Library. We were walking around the resort at night and almost missed this little gem. The wood stove is equipped and ready with kindling and wood. An assortment of books, games, and a piano are available for you too. Or you may just decide to snuggle up on the couch and relax in front of the fire!
The Fitness Room is on your way up to the Pool and Hot Pool. You will need an appointment for the Aspen Leaf Resort Spa #1 and Day Spa #2.
On your way in or out of the resort, do not forget to stop in at O'Grady's and Mercantile, which is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
