Indiana Lawmaker Enables Rape!

I'm furious!

As anyone who read my first book; Carnal Abuse by Deceit knows, when I'm angry or upset, I write poetry. I haven't done so in a while. This morning, I'm writing.

I just learned that HB 1584, the bill initiated by the Honorable Sally Siegrist, Indiana State Representative, and submitted to the House of Representatives by IN State Rep. Donna Schaibley, has been ignored by the Courts and Criminal Code Committee of the Indiana House, headed by Rep. Wendy McNamara.

The Committee Chair sets the agenda for the bills that are submitted for consideration by the entire House. McNamara had 94 bills to chose from for 25 slots. Protecting the residents of Indiana from sexual assault was not one that made her list. In fact, It was among several bills that were focused on preventing sex crimes like Lewd Touching, Sexual Assault, Rape, Sexual Battery, Sex Trafficking, Nonconsensual Porn, and Domestic Abuse, that never saw the light of day.

Bills that increased judges and magistrates in Howard, Vanderburgh, Clarke, Tippecanoe, Marion and Spencer Counties got a thumbs up while bills that "protected the person" languished on the shelf. The last day to include them and send them on the Senate is Monday, 2/18. So far, there is nothing on the House Agenda to hear any bills from the Courts and Criminal Code Committee between now and the 18th.

While Wendy can hire all the judges and magistrates she wants, if Indiana's laws fail to protect her constituents from heinous sex crimes, what good does that do?

Indiana may be the last place you'd want to send your daughter to school!

Indiana has some highly regarded colleges and universities. But their law makers have decided its not a big deal if someone copycats the behavior of Donald Grant Ward by climbing in bed with her, in her dorm room while she's asleep, and tricks her into sex by pretending to be her boyfriend. And while you may not be totally comfortable with thinking of your daughter having sex, how comfortable would you be if she gets raped?

She turned her back on protecting you!

And all the students at Purdue,

Indiana State, and Notre Dame too!

What was she thinking when she turned her back,

On Grant Ward's heinous, sexual assault attack?

Outrageous failure from a political hack,

Who doesn't give a damn who climbs in your sack!

Ward and Wendy - hand in hand,

Hopping into your bed throughout Hoosier land.

Defiling young women to beat the band-

Just a gutless wonder who fails to take a stand!

Tell Wendy you won't take any more!

You're watching her choices and keeping her score.

Her decisions are heartless, her judgment is poor,

At the very next election, close her ignorant door!

McNamara turned her back on 5 domestic violence bills, 3 bills for bias crimes, 3 protections for minors and 4 for rape and human trafficking.

1584 - Prohibiting Sexual Assault by Impersonating a Spouse or Intimate Partner Grade F

McNamara and Indiana are showing us loud and clear, in real time, how little a woman's body - or a man's because they can be raped too - is valued by our legislators!.

Are they deaf to #MeToo, #FGKIA, NOW and the grotesque average rate for sexual assaults... one every 98 seconds? They are demonstrating exactly why we have so much sexual assault and rape throughout the US! Our legislators have been callous for centuries. It's time for a change! Our votes determine the people with the power to make a difference. Think carefully about the values of the next person you elect to public office!

And make sure, if you send your daughter to school in Indiana, you pack a chastity belt!

Or you may want to think about schools in South Carolina where SC Rep. Mandy Powers Norell has submitted a bill - H 3829 - to protect against sexual assault in her state.
