On Wednesday, August 2, 2017 the beautiful, talented and versatile actress Halle Berry appeared for a screening for her newly released film Kidnap. The New York crowd and audience were very happy to see her. This is a bit of a passion project for Halle since she is a mother and felt somewhat of a kinship to the character.
To introduce Halle Berry, was Essence Magazine, Editor in Chief, Vanessa DeLuca. Just before the film started, Halle talked and thanked the press for coming to support the film. She also spoke about the importance of female heroes in films. This is very true and quite important for all people and younger women to see. It is important in all industry and especially in Hollywood.
Kidnap is the story where a typical afternoon in the park turns into a nightmare for single mother Karla Dyson when kidnappers snatch her young son Frankie. With no cellphone and no time to wait for police, Dyson jumps into her car to follow the vehicle that holds Frankie. As the pursuit turns into a frantic, high-speed chase, Karla must risk everything and push herself to the limit to save her beloved child.
The film is indeed a perfect example of strong women, especially for moms thrive and do all they can protect their children which makes this a very empowering movie. Fans of Halle will see her play a unexpected, but total a bad ass mom, The story will take all on an emotional ride and will have audiences talking about it and rooting for her to win.
