It’s easy to overspend during the holiday season; however, we must refrain! There are many ways to keep yourself from going overboard when shopping for others, or even yourself. Here are some effective ways to save money throughout the holidays:
1. When shopping for yourself, make sure what you’re buying is worth it. Do you really need it? If it’s something you must have, consider waiting a bit more so that you could get a bunch of holiday deals.
2. When buying for your friends, get them what they actually want. Don’t ask your friends what they want for Christmas if you won’t for sure get it for them. Don’t get their hopes up like that. Also, when setting a budget, try not to go under the budget. I set a $25 budget with a friend and when the time came, she gave me, what looked like, a $5 necklace while I gave her many little gifts from Victoria’s Secret. Don’t be that friend.
3. When buying for family, buy something they’ll actually use. When I was younger, I used to buy my mom so many cute little gifts that she never used. I can’t blame her—I wouldn’t use them either if they were given to me. Now, I buy her products that she actually wants and will use, like that eye cream she’s been dying for.
I hope this helped! Happy Holidays!
