It’s been a long time since I posted something and I, kind of, missed it. Today, I decided to update my blog, but since the subject is about a female character and her strength, it's also useful to post it here as well.
The hottest topic lately is Game of Thrones, of course. The long-awaited 8th season is finally here and fans have some strong reactions, to say the least. Somehow everyone expected Jon Snow would kill the Night King and they weren’t, exactly, pleased with the unexpected turn of events. Personally, I love Arya Stark. She has been my favorite from the very first episode and I’m glad she was the one who killed the Night King. In fact, there were many clues that foreshadowed that moment.
Male character doesn’t always have to be the one who saves the world. Isn’t that story getting old? Arya Stark has always been brave, throughout the show. She went through a lot and showed great courage, determination, and strength. Yeah, she killed a few (or more than that) people along the way but there’s a lot about this character that makes Arya Stark a great role model for young girls.
Arya Stark showed everyone that female characters can be heroes as well. She worked hard to survive and to become what she is now. Nowadays when young girls are constantly exposed to content that depicts women as inferior, sex objects, and a weaker gender it’s nice to have someone like Arya Stark, a cool girl who can inspire many to focus on their own strength, intellect, and to work hard in order to achieve the goals they set out for themselves.
What do you think about Arya as a strong female character?
