"Animal Kingdom" Actress, Jennifer Landon on New Season

Three-time Emmy Winner Jennifer Landon stars in John Wells' ("Shameless," "ER") hit TNT drama "Animal Kingdom" (Tuesdays 9/8c). In the gritty, critically acclaimed drama Collider calls "the perfect Summer show," Landon plays 'Amy,' a church girl with a troubled past, seeking redemption through faith who finds herself at the center of the story with 'Pope' (Shawn Hatosy). We would love to arrange an interview with you and her to discuss the newest season, sure to be another hit for TNT and John Wells.

"Animal Kingdom" follows the lives of the gritty Southern California Cody clan, a crime family who runs the beach town. The series begins when 'J Cody' (Finn Cole) is forced to move in with his estranged grandmother and family matriarch 'Janine "Smurf" Cody' (Emmy and Tony award winner, Ellen Barkin) following the heroin overdose death of his mother. Soon he becomes immersed in the underground dealings of other family members that consists of 'Pope', the oldest and most dangerous of the Cody boys, 'Craig' (Ben Robson), the tough and fearless middle son, and 'Deran' (Jake Weary), the troubled, suspicious "baby" of the family.

A California native, Landon always knew she'd grow up to be an actor. Though she pursued other avenues growing up, including some serious thought into becoming a professional basketball player, she ultimately continued her education at NYU studying and feeding into her creative side with theatre, street performance, and dance. During her time at NYU, she booked her first big job, a small part on "As The World Turns," a guest spot that led quickly to a three-year contract, 500 episodes, and three consecutive Emmys in the category of "Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series". Soap fans may also remember Landon from her time on "The Young & The Restless" before she made the move into cable with an arc on Cinemax's "Banshee" and NBC's "Chicago Med."

When she's not working, Landon enjoys spending time with her two rescue dogs, staying fit through Pilates and healthy eating, and dedicating herself to environmental cause.
