For quite some time, I had been running into these ads on YouTube about a new movie, “Lady Bird.” Not knowing it was in independent film, I was eager to hear about it at my local theater, but found that no one was talking about it. After careful research, I found that only one theater in my city was having a special showing of “Lady Bird,” and I knew I had to make the trip to watch.
Little did I know that a quick movie experience would uncover such a hidden gem in my city; I fell in love with the aesthetic and comfort of the Enzian Theater. With a small restaurant and bar attached, the incredible scenery topped off with lights, hidden away by a plethora of trees, it was hard not to be infatuated with this little getaway. Home of the Florida Project, the Enzian Theater is a non-profit theater, aimed to bring audiences to support foreign, classic and independent films. The classic couches made it easy to feel at home; I am in awe of such an authentic theater, and definitely will be returning.
*Enzian Theater is located in Maitland, Florida, about 30 minutes from East Orlando.
