What’s life like as a Digital Grad in the Barcelona office? Zanzi Garnett Spear tells all…
7am wake up and coffee
I creep out early before my housemates wake up. I like to go to the gym, or cycle to work, which gives me time to clear my mind before heading to the office.
Breakfast time…
My go-to breakfasts are protein oats (obviously Quaker!) topped with fresh fruit, goji berries and chia seeds, or a delicious smoothie bowl topped with muesli or granola- the Quaker chocolate Cruesli is my favourite.
The golden hour…
I’m a morning person so I prefer to arrive around 8.30 or 9am. The office is nice and quiet at this time so you can get a lot done before everyone arrives!
Dream team…
My team is great! There are only four of us here in the Barcelona office: myself, Dani, Bego, and Regina, who run all the digital campaigns for snacks and nutrition – it’s busy but we have good fun. No day is the same; we could be working on the Lay’s Mediterráneas campaign one day or the UEFA Champions League partnership the next!
I am responsible for the digital campaigns, the ´Always On´ calendars, websites, and e-shops for Lay’s, Cheetos, and Alvalle and have to work closely with the brands and our different agencies to adapt and create digital assets for our local markets.
Lunchtime…
I go home as it allows me to spend some time with my flatmates – they’re always home at that time too.
Clocking off…
Home time depends on my workload but I usually leave between 6:30 - 7:30pm. If I didn’t go to the gym in the morning then I meet up with friends in the evening and go to a class like Body Combat or Spinning. Once home, I prepare dinner and love making big salads, stir-fries, and Buddha bowls.
Lights out…
I don’t usually go to sleep until 11:30 or 12:00 because I’m awake talking to my flatmates for a good while after dinner, it’s a great way to wind down at the end of the day
