6 Things I Do to Keep Myself Stress Free

In between school and work (and any other thing I tackle on to take over the world), I sometimes forget to breathe. Everything becomes overwhelming to the point where I can no longer take it. It’s so difficult for me to admit that I’m too busy and need time to myself. Thankfully, I’ve found ways to ease the stress.

1. Meditation

Now, I’m no expert but I do use this meditation app! If I’m feeling anxious or I simply need to clear my mind this app works wonders. Great for beginners and very user friendly. Among all the apps I’ve used this one is my favorite. It lets you log your emotions and it recommends a few meditation exercises to do.

2. Running/Exercise

Any sort of exercise is stress reliever. I either try to go for a jog, walk my dog, or select a workout from the Nike app! Like the meditation app, this app adjusts to your needs and is very user friendly!

3. Keeping a planner

In my planner I plan my week, add sticky notes, to do lists, etc. Keeping my life organized helps me feel a sense of control. Having a visual of all that I have to do helps tremendously. You can even use different colored pens, stickers, etc. to decorate it and make it more you.

4. Keeping a journal

Whether it be to brainstorm ideas, write down my thoughts, or vent, a personal journal is a great way to help jot down what’s on your mind. Like a planner, but more for brainstorming.

5. Getting ready (if the time permits)

Whether it be straightening my hair or doing my makeup, getting ready makes me feel like I’m ready to take over the world! On a good day, (or even on a bad one) even the slightest amount of effort I put into my looks give me a boost of confidence and turns my mood around.

6. Saying NO!

Admitting to being too busy and not taking on what you KNOW you won’t have time to do is NUMBER ONE! I’ve learned that saying no is ok! Although you may feel that you’re disappointing someone, you have to remember that at the end of the day it’s YOU who has to take care of yourself and that should be a priority!

Let me know what you guys do to stay stress free!

Great advice! I just started a brand new planner and journal today, and it's been the most productive day I've had in months, so I definitely agree!
