Going to a Pittsburgh Pirates Game
Remember all those late-summer Pirates games you went to as a kid, when they were in the hunt for a playoff spot? No. You don’t.
That’s because the Pirates suffered through twenty losing seasons before breaking the streak in 2013. Now you can regain some of your lost childhood as the 2015 Pirates are currently in the hunt for their third consecutive playoff appearance. There is much to love about PNC Park, the home of the Pirates, including the view, the atmosphere and, of course, one of the hottest teams in baseball.
Visiting Studio AM
Remember all the fun you had in art class as a kid? Ok, so maybe you weren’t the greatest artist. Don’t worry, Baron Batch, of Studio AM, has already taken care of all the artwork here. Studio AM was founded by two former Pittsburgh Steelers, Baron Batch and John Malecki. John has built the furniture in the studio and Baron has painted….well…. everything, including the walls, the refrigerator, and even a bathtub.
The weekends at Studio AM feature an amazing brunch, by Chef Steve, where you can view exceptional artwork, while eating a delicious meal. Even though brunching may be considered an adult activity, doesn’t it feel good to sleep in and connect with your creative side again?
Going to Kennywood
How often do you drive by a favorite childhood place that isn’t there anymore? Unfortunately, your favorite roller skating rink may be gone or your favorite pool has closed. Not to fear, Kennywood Park is still around and just as you remember it. Seriously, the place hasn’t changed much including the rides, the food and the 90's music. Riding your favorite rides and eating Potato Patch fries will make you feel like a twelve-year old kid again. Better yet, you can even drive yourself there as an adult.
This one is pretty obvious. We just suffered through another oppressive and miserable winter here in Pittsburgh, so it’s no surprise that everyone is eager to be outside. Check out one of the great local parks or a river trail and explore this beautiful city by foot or by bicycle. After all, what could make you feel more like a kid than exploring a park or a trail and forgetting what time of day it is?
