President Donald Trump has nominated the first African-American woman for promotion to general in the U.S. Marine Corps. Col. Lorna M. Mahlock will be promoted to the rank of brigadier general, if confirmed, the U.S. Department of Defense announced on Tuesday. Mahlock is currently the deputy director of Operations, Plans, Policies, and Operations Directorate at Marine Corps Headquarters in Washington. "According to her LinkedIn profile, Mahlock has served in Germany, worked in the Office of Legislative Affairs and served in Okinawa, Japan. Women make up just 8% of the Marine Corps, but Gen. Glenn Walters, the assistant commandant of the Marine Corps, has said that number is set to rise, ABC News reports."

Body Acceptance by Beyonce....women worldwide thank Beyonce and her photographer Tyler Mitchell for a Vogue cover that perfectly portrays how fertility, abundance, and calculated balance create a very special time in a woman's life. Beyonce epitomizes that time in our busy motherhood where we wish we could take a moment to sit and be that cover shot. In just that brief microsecond, we see an appreciation of motherhood's complete abundance. I love the sparse imperfect white background suggesting that everything else about our lives pales in comparison to our fulfillment as mothers. Bravo Beyonce....

We should never forget the women who came before us, lighting a path for us to see our way into a world that changes with our every accomplishment. Like a patchwork quilt, we are sewing our lives into a colorful, brilliant, determined future full of health, wealth and love. Remember we did not fall upon feminism alone....... Find ways to fund women's education and pave a wider path to accomplishment.

Your entire life can be hijacked by a predator and this kind of crime must be exposed so what are you waiting for.....you have such a credible, intelligent, devoted woman who works on our sexual rights to honest transactions....yes sex is a transaction that we experience as an exchange of love for sex, sex for love and theft of sex....by rape, by rape by deception, by incest, by professional abuse.....so many reasons to have the conversation in which young women learn from our mistakes. Time for a Mogul Peer Award for those women who guide us through danger.

This is a hot question even in 2018? The #WitchHunt has begun. We attack male adulterers for their alleged sexual infidelities . How should we feel about women who allegedly OPENLY sleep with married male politicians on their climb to election? Watching Kamala Harris attack Gina Haspel.....just wondering what Kamala's approach would have been if Gina was Gino? Would she try to seduce her to get ahead? As a retired politician I had to think about why it matters how we behave on our way to the top. What do we female politicians feel about women working beside us who have had allegedly had adulterous affairs with married mayors of their city and still try to present themselves as moral compasses? My question while I was watching her attack a remarkable woman, Gina Haspel, was: "Kamala Harris: is it still adultery to sleep with a married man? YES OR NO? Should we as female politicians feel and express moral outrage when female politicians working beside us are publicly reported to have slept with important corrupt married male politicians on their climb to their elected office yet preach like they are a judge of character ? YES OR NO? Should we vote for them? YES OR NO? If I wanted to run for President, who should I sleep with next? That's not a YES OR NO question, please give me a list of vulnerable men married to living breathing wives. What if someone slept with your husband? Would she be an adulteress? YES OR NO?

It is scandalous that such crimes against women have gone unprocessed and that rapists are allowed to live freely.....Is it time for vigilante justice or a huge class action lawsuit against LE and government. Mostly women of color have been disregarded and their rapists have not been identified.....How much should each one of them be paid to make them whole.....how much is enough......Just sayin.....

I don't agree. Proper parenting can teach men to respect women of all ages and treat them accordingly. If a man has never been taught the way of the gentleman, then it is up to him to choose to learn by observation of the remaining true gentlemen. Women need to give positive reinforcement to those men who conduct themselves as purveyors of kindness. The act of chivalry reveals more about the man than the recipient woman. Good men treat all women with regard for their place in our world.....

Victim blaming of rape victims has to end.......what was he wearing when he decided to commit a crime against a person? Do we ask what men were wearing when they got raped....yes men do get raped. Do we ask what someone was wearing when they were in their home and the break and enter turned into a rape? Do we ask rapist what we should wear so that they don't rape us and will that work? So someone who wears a burka will not get raped? America is not a third world country. Sex is available on nearly every street corner. Sex workers get raped too. So it is not about the clothes on her back. It is about control. It is about making someone feel fear and pain and suffering. BE CAREFUL RAPISTS.....THE NEXT THING SHE MAY BE WEARING IS CALLED CONCEALED CARRY AND YOUR DICK WILL BE BLOWN OFF BEFORE YOU GET TO USE IT. TAKE THAT.

They claimed that they needed a chain of evidence for contents of the computers I kept since the company began....a company my significant other started and that I worked at from day one furnishing, hiring, creating the financial transaction form library, building into a very successful investment firm until........ I am soooo dissatisfied with the RCMP's investigative work.....boy do I need a meeting with this magnificent woman.....and boy does she need a meeting with me just for a couple of hours....there is nothing like building a case of evidence and proof and seeing the Prosecutors office hum and haw.....welcome on board and baby do you have your work cut out for you. Happy International Woman's Day to Viola Desmond.... Bravo Viola Desmond. Desmond becomes the first black person – and the first non-royal woman – on a regularly circulating Canadian bank note. “It’s a long-awaited sense of belonging for the African Canadian community,” said Russell Grosse, executive director of the Black Cultural Centre for Nova Scotia. “The launch of the bill sends people of African descent the message that Canada is finally accepting us. We belong.” The bill marks a growing recognition of Desmond’s refusal to leave the whites-only section of a Nova Scotia movie theatre on Nov. 8, 1946 – nearly a decade before Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on a segregated bus in Alabama – and the seminal role it played in Canada’s civil rights movement.

More successful actresses speaking out about the abuses by Harvey Weinstein. Young actresses who rejected him and changed their career path speak out again about the events that occurred decades ago. Only the harassed person can report the harassment to the correct person or body. Many tried and were bought off. However it is clear that they admit longtime consequences. Many jokes about how actresses would no longer have to pretend to be attracted to Harvey Weinstein made people laugh about how women were asked to put out in order to have work. I successfully sued in 1979 as the first woman in my province to win against a very handsome and very rich man who told me that in order to go to work on Monday we would have to share a bedroom because the other bedroom had all of the clothing I was modelling to buyers at the time. I was young, beautiful, had obtained a loan from a bank with his signature as guarantor to buy the equipment I needed to travel with as a sample model. I had no savings, as a young university student and I wanted to be properly equipped to do the job right. I refused to sleep in the same room. He said well you don't have a job then because that's the way it works in the clothing business. So my best friend (who happened to later become a successful entertainment lawyer doing contracts with many famous male movie stars) came to my rescue. We were accompanied by the Women's Rank and File and the Human Rights Commission at the time. My settlement was for $3,000.00 which was just to reimburse me for the loan, and I asked for nothing more as there were not really a lot of settlements back then. He said he would give me a check. I told my attorney I wanted $20 bills and that he was to meet us at McDonalds where I sat at the corner table with the floor to ceiling windows behind us so that everyone could see me counting the money which I did slowly and stared at him the whole while trying to make him aware of my wrath at not being able to become a famous model, my ambition at the time since my cousin had made Vogue and Bazaar covers. My lovely attorney was almost flirting with him while he said sorry we had to meet this way. Unbelievable. Still I won a victory that made me stronger and set the tone for other women in a similar situation. Bob Benedetti of CTV news won a B'nai Brith prize for this reporting in which I sat in the dark and discussed the case for the news documentary. I admitted I would have dated him but he was married. However I did not consent to sex for money because I was not a whore. When men force you to take money after assaulting you as a way of shutting you up, they do not shut up the little voice in you that says you made a mistake and should have spoken up. Speak up now. Speak up for the single mother who is forced to allow abuse because she can't take the chance that she will be unemployed. Speak up now for the young interns at the White House who thought having sexual interaction with a president was romantic. Look at those whose lives were changed forever and how they cleared the path for the rest of us. Brave and courageous describe those who did say something and do their part to change our reality. For those who said nothing, it is time to forgive yourselves for doing nothing. Not everyone has the courage or bravery to stand up to their abuser. Do whatever you need today to forgive yourself and get the help you need because somewhere inside of yourself there is anger at the abuser and anger at yourself for the powerless position you were in and you need help to understand that victims of rape and assault cannot always say no even if they wanted to scream it at the top of their lungs. Be the voice of those worldwide who are afraid and need those of us who aren't to stand up and say NO MORE DENYING WOMEN WORK UNLESS THEY GIVE YOU SEX IN RETURN.

Where's Hillary and her supporters when it is time to speak? Mogul usually speaks out mercilessly against sexual harassment of women at work. Will Mogul speak out in support of the actions taken against Weinstein? Weinstein donated with largess to Hillary and now Hillary's Hollywood is going to have to make a decision. What is her position on harassment by industry leaders? Where's Meryl Streep? They must all be suffering from shock silence. Will there be sustainable progress in Hollywood by which talent will prevail over sexual favors? Anyone who supports Weinstein's request that he be sent to rehab and not fired is showing that their thinking is complicit with his crimes against women. The only way to save the company is to assign a woman as President of the corporation. Weinstein cannot profit from his crimes against women and his career and any proceeds from this company must end. The issue of whether women consented to his assaults is irrelevant. The issue is how many were silenced by payouts requiring non disclosure. He is the one with power over employees. He is the one whose decisions must abide by corporate culture in Hollywood where outdated, sexist, oppressive attitudes are sinking fast. Hillary Clinton's silence is due to an obvious conflict of interest whereby her attitude against sexual harassment of employees is already tainted. As the wife of a harasser, it would be disingenuous of her to say that harassment in Hollywood is a no go but harassment in the White House is a go go. This is why she lost the election. Her values are self serving and she promote her interests only when she claims to stand up for women. Her silence shows that she is not living the values that she flaunted during her election. She should request that her team give the money Weinstein gave her election fund efforts to a charity supporting sexual assault victims.

For many years I refused to invest clients into China sector funds. Gendercide of baby girls in China is now also a problem in India. However even with American women, half of the abortions destroy the chance for a girl to be born. Yet the US refused to legislate against sex selection abortion. Are we really feminists if this is something we ignore? Are you a feminist if your protest ignores how many girls are never born because they are not as wanted as boys? This is disgusting. As I ate my lunch at the Ritz and decided not to invest in China by mutual fund, I felt a power to say no to a country that devalued women as easily as they did their currency. In Berkshire country in Omaha I also stood up when Neil Goodman couldn't understand why China was not getting my clients money. That was in 1997 and still today I don't invest in China or India. If my clients want to they are free to self serve at the bank but I still feel that it is within my power legally to tell countries where to go, without hesitation, until they understand that baby girls matter.

A light comical presentation comparing consent to daily consent events and how limited consent really is. Beyond consent, Zerlina Maxwell, a feminist icon. I may not support her political leaning but I respect her courage. See her website at http://zerlinamaxwell.com/ Ms. Maxwell is an incredibly brave, heroic and tireless advocate for ending rape culture, whether it on campus or elsewhere. It is time for education on consent and personal responsibility for males as well as females. We have lived for decades trying to prevent rape by acting the way we should but we have reached an impasse. There is nothing wrong with trying to teach all males what the meaning of consent is instead of teaching all girls that they are responsible for preventing rape. While we were out marching, women's tools for self defense evolved. Over 10% of women in the US own a gun and over 40% own 3. Today's woman is probably brandishing a weapon in her gun belt, bra holster or purse. How do you prevent rape when certain men of certain cultures see women as objects, chattel, dehumanized slaves whose sole purpose is obeying them? Look at Europe and the rape epidemic because of the violent illegal economic refugees who come from misogynist countries where women must cover themselves completely or be considered to be inviting rape because they are dressing the way women in our country do, doing things women in our country do. This is a serious issue that has to be addressed. Years ago I brought forth a resolution that made law enforcement charge HIV+ rapists who know they are contagious with attempted murder because rape can lead to death. Rape can result in unwanted pregnancy. Rape can result in depression and suicide. The debate must include all forms of rape including dating violence, marital rape and stranger rape, beyond a simple definition of consent. Until then, instead of stand your ground, we should say stand your body and let it be known that sometimes good women do kill bad men who try to rape them and sometimes those men die and it is justified. A good defense with no premeditation should make it legal for women with a gun to use it, since they don't have a penis as a weapon with which to rape a man back. Equal force is impossible. So it becomes sort of a meet my mini Ruger and get your free sex change operation conversation where self defense is justifiable if you think your life is in danger and it is in danger when you are being raped. Thank God for the Second Amendment and our right to protect ourselves for the purpose of the collective security of American Women . Debating consent will never create a climate of safety for women as long as unteachable men want to control, abuse, defeat and destroy women. And yes women are still evolving and one day there will be less rape because men will be afraid, very afraid because women are carrying.

Should women have been present as members of the House Freedom Caucus? Cynthia Lummis retired January 2017. This is what happens when the elected women refuse to be members of the House Freedom Caucus and is no fault of POTUS. So if Emily's List helps women get elected but they don't spread out to sit on every committee and Caucus, then the diversity the women provide in opinion and counsel is not available. Gender diversity goes beyond getting elected. It goes to being present everywhere to speak your truth. How can your word to your electors and those you represent in office possibly be kept if you only go where your comfort zone allows you. Are we to believe that Cynthia Lummis is the last woman who can sit down with these men and speak to them about mammograms without it becoming a joke? President Donald Trump met with the arch-conservative House Freedom Caucus at the White House Thursday to try to hammer out a deal on Obamacare repeal. A major question in the final negotiations? Whether or not maternity care and mammograms should be considered "essential" treatments covered by all health insurance policies under the Republican proposal. ("I wouldn't want to lose my mammograms," quipped Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kan.), who supports scrapping the requirement. He apologized.) The White House happily snapped a photo of the gathering that will go a long way toward deciding the future of women's health in America, and EMIILY's List, the group that works to elect pro-choice Democratic women to Congress, also blasted out a photo of the event to reporters. Notice anything?

I had the pleasure of hearing Sally Krawcheck speak tonight at a CFA annual conference. As I sat in my comfortable world and ate my Passion Fruit Panna Cotta, I thought of the women I had met online at Mogul. I thought of how far some of them walk for water. I thought of how hard it was for some to find kotex never mind argue about why we have to pay tax on it. I traveled away from my comfort zone in the midst of the suits and ponytails and I wondered about the globalization of women's issues, microbanking, and as I drifted off topic in my mind, I knew I had begun a path in a totally new direction. It is about how we would find a common ground in which we could meet in issue rooms and feel connected. Here I was in a hotel with chandeliers and fine china listening to an accomplished woman discuss competition between women in my industry, never mind what happened when we first started encroaching on a man's territory, the financial business. Then I thought of my friend Josee who is going to Burkina Faso to help develop water wells filtration. Where do I fit in now that I know about what is going on in the rest of the world, outside of this world, not just what UNICEF shows me, but a calling about what women from here can do there. I want to be more than just a successful Financial Advisor. I want to teach baby steps to women who have so far to go. Sally said, "Have you ever been queen bee’d? If you are a businesswoman of my generation, the answer is very often yes, meaning that you have come across a more senior woman in the course of your career who didn’t support you or, worse, undermined you. And it’s a killer. Now, to be fair, her actions were understandable in the context of the business world of her time. Still not cool, but understandable. But that world is changing, so now it’s time to put a stop to that behaviour and break the vicious cycle." If we at Mogul could work together and spend our energy upvoting each other in real life, Helping Her find clean water, Helping Her drill a well for water and filter it, seeing what the other 99% of the world is like for women who are not my color, not my education, not my loves, not my pains, not my worries, in a world in which instead of just criticizing men in politics, I could be the change instead of just throwing money at it, how much more helpful would I be in that world..... Just saying.....

Is construction a man's world? Not anymore!!! When women unite, a house becomes a home. Anne Bergeron from Habitat for Humanity visited Global News Morning on Wednesday to talk about an all-female program that builds affordable housing for families in need around Montreal. The program is called Women Build 2017 (Les Batisseuses 2017), and they are currently seeking volunteers in the Montreal area for a project starting in May. “We’re looking for 100 women,” Bergeron explained. “Each one will commit to raising $500 and take one day off their busy schedules to help us build a house.” Women are encouraged to sign up individually or in groups and the construction crews will consist of up to 10 members. Bergeron explained houses built by Habitat for Humanity are sold at affordable prices to families in need of a home. This is the fourth year of the all-female program; over 500 women have participated and raised more than $400,000 so far. “We all know the construction field is predominantly men, there’s a certain solidarity that develops among women when we all get together and get involved in the community,” Bergeron said. Registration is open until April 9, and the construction dates are scheduled from May 26 to June 16.

WHEN WOMEN MAKE MEN LOOK REALLY GOOD EVEN BETTER THAN WHEN THEY ARE ALONE DOING WHAT THEY DO BEST For example, when Mick Jagger invited his backup singer Lisa Fischer to help the band sing Gimme Shelter. Once she started singing on her own, the audience erupted! Check it out! Have you ever WITHOUT REGRETTING IT, AND WHILE IT ADVANTAGED YOU, made a man look good or look better because of what you contributed to his show, his gig? Did it upvote your life? Did you get the credit you deserve? Are you glad you did it? Would you do it again? Or would you just work on making yourself look good and avoid being someone's backup singer?

Air India's all-female crew makes history with round-the-world flight. As a retired flight attendant who spent weekends flying the world while being a very productive single mother during the week, I am impressed by this magnificent accomplishment. "Every member of staff -- from the flight's captains to the cabin crew, check-in and ground handling staff -- were women. Even the engineers, who certified the aircraft, and air traffic controllers, who cleared its departure and arrival, were women, the company said. An Air India spokesman told CNN that the airline has applied for a Guinness World Record to mark the occasion, part of a series of all-women flights scheduled to mark International Women's Day on March 8."

Kubra Dagali makes us so proud. You rock, lady. Another woman doing something dear to her heart, with courage, determination and pride in her country and her flag. Patriotism is important in many ways and sports is the most pure devotion to make one's country proud. \

Profile of the courage of Amal Clooney, wife of George Clooney, showing the UN and the world that she cares, bravely, publicly, about victims of war crimes. “I am speaking to you, the Iraqi government, and to you, U.N. member states, when I ask: Why? Why has nothing been done?” Amal Clooney, the British-Lebanese barrister who represents victims of ISIS rapes and kidnappings, said.

“SPOTTING ELEGANCE WITHIN THE CHAOS.” When gifted women approach a problem that men have already worked on, and they find elegance within the chaos........ The concept of brilliance spotting anything within chaos intrigues me. I wonder what she would be like as president.....

A Kurdish reporter has been killed while covering on the battle for Mosul in Iraq. Shifa Gardi, who worked for Iraqi Kurdish channel Rudaw, was killed by a roadside bomb as she covered the advance of Iraqi forces into western areas held by so-called Islamic State. Rudaw said that Gardi, 30, had broken the stereotypes of male-dominated journalism. Iraqi forces continue to face stiff resistance from IS as they advance. The Iraqi troops entered western districts of Mosul for the first time on Friday as part of an offensive begun in October to drive the jihadists from their main stronghold. 'Daring journalist' Rudaw said that Gardi's cameraman, Yunis Mustafa, was injured in the explosion.
