I constantly see advertisements for fast weight loss. There is nothing more annoying to me as a fitness professional because I know the real story behind fast weight loss...and it's a scam. Check out my latest blog post where I crunch the numbers for you to prove that your friend didn't lose 11 pounds of fat in 2 days. It's not physically possible.

Have you ever tried a reset, detox, or cleanse to lose weight quickly or try to get rid of cravings for junk food? Did it help you? How long did you diet, and did the effect (weight loss or subdued cravings) last beyond the diet? I have tried MANY of these types of diets in an attempt to control cravings and/or lose weight quickly. And it never fails - if the diet is 30 days long - I'm face down in a pile of donuts on day 31. Resets and detoxes just don't work for me, but that's not to say they won't work for you. My most recent blog post details who should and who should not consider undertaking a reset diet. I hope you find it helpful and thank you for reading!

First impressions are everything, right? If you are overweight, look tired, are sick all the time, or are otherwise unhealthy, I understand the draw to extreme diets and programs meant to help you lose weight quickly and/or change your life overnight. I totally understand that desperate feeling of just "wanting to get the weight off". Every time I get that feeling, I embark on the next restrictive diet...which leads me directly into my next binge. This is what caused my current inability to lose weight by lowering my metabolism. But what's much worse is that extreme and restrictive dieting CAUSED my dysfunctional relationship with food. Dieting caused my binge eating disorder. So are the 10,000 diets and programs currently on the market actually working for us? Long-term research says NO. Diets actually predict long-term weight GAIN. Yikes! So if diets make us fatter, how do we ever lose weight and get healthy? In this latest blog post I discuss the key to long-term weight loss and health...and why you might want to avoid "going keto".

Thank you Sarah Fein! I've had to learn this the hard way personally and I've completely changed how I train and teach people as a result. I used to just give out meal plans and the standard weight loss advice: eat less, exercise more, never touch anything white. Lol. The women I work with would lose weight initially, but would eventually gain it all back when they couldn't maintain perfection. I'm living (and have begun teaching) the intuitive eating approach. It's changed my life!

This is my first post to Mogul. I'm a woman who struggles with binge/emotional/compulsive eating, orthorexia, and body image issues. I wanted to share this blog post that I wrote because I think it could help other women who grapple with these challenges.
