Dr Gullion is the author of more than thirty peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. She researches the ways in which people cope with threats in their environment, whether it be concerns such as infectious disease outbreaks, industrial activity, or climate change. A seasoned ethnographer, Dr Gullion is also interested in how to perform socially just social science research. Her most recent books include: Fracking the Neighborhood: Reluctant Activists and Natural Gas Drilling (MIT 2015); Writing Ethnography (Sense 2016); October Birds: A Novel about Pandemic Influenza, Infection Control, and First Responders (Sense 2014); and Diffractive Ethnography (Routledge 2018).
