Jackie London is a Registered Dietitian (RD) and New York State Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist (CDN). Jackie joined Good Housekeeping in August 2014 as nutrition director, where she is responsible for the creation, execution, and oversight of all of the magazine’s nutrition-related content across media platforms and the Good Housekeeping Seal applications in the food space. She is the founder and director of Good Housekeeping Food and Nutrition Brand Lab and Good Housekeeping Nutritionist Approved Emblem www.ghnutritionistapproved.com, which launched in Fall 2016.
Since transitioning to magazine journalism in 2014, Jackie has focused on translating clinical and epidemiological research findings into digestible information for consumers on the pages of Good Housekeeping.
Some of her most recent accomplishments include: Editorial design, execution, and nutritional criteria/content generation for the GH SuperCarb Diet (2015-2016) in print and digital editions; design and execution of monthly Ask Jackie page; Hearst Books contributor for all 2016 food/health titles, including nutritional information, coordination with freelance authors for written introduction, nutritional direction, and recipe curation (includes: “The Doctor’s Secrets, 2017,” “Flat Tummy Cookbook,” 2017 and “Heart Healthy Cookbook, 2016”)
She also designs and executes large scale consumer taste-tests (>30 products, >20 testers) for GH based on consumer food and beverage trends as well as new and developing nutritional epidemiology. To-date, Jackie has appeared on a number of national TV segments on behalf of the brand, including the TODAY Show, The Rachael Ray Show, The Dr. Oz Show, WSJLive, and ABC News.
Previously, Jackie she served as Mount Sinai’s media spokesperson for the Department of Clinical Nutrition and was responsible for the development and implementation of the hospital’s employee weight loss program; diagnostic criteria for malnutrition. Jackie also collaborated with researchers on a developing clinical trial examining the effects of diet on the gut microbiome of Multiple Sclerosis patients.
Additionally, Jackie counseled clients in nutrition therapy for endurance athletics, eating disorders, diabetes, kidney disease, cardiovascular disease, and general weight-loss at the nutrition private practice, Nutrition Energy, here in midtown Manhattan.
In addition to her role at GH, she is an adjunct professor of nutrition in the Biology Department at Touro College, a guest lecturer in sports nutrition at SoulCycle, and participates regularly in speaking engagements, panels, and presentations for various national organizations including The James Beard Foundation, The Culinary Institutes of America, Wellness in the Schools, and New York University.
