I am Hawa Ibrahim, and I am currently a high school senior about to start school at Brandeis University in the fall of 2016. My junior year of high school I did a program called Bank of America Student Leaders.
I am a Student Leader and I love creating events and programs. So far in my high school career the projects I have created is Yearbook Club at my school. Everyone in my school doubted us and didn't think we can raise enough money to actually create the yearbooks. But me and my friend had a lot of motivation and passion for the club and everyone's doubt just motivated us even more. Their doubts was the fire that sparked our creativity and made us want to accomplish our goal even more. At the end we proved everyone who has ever doubted us wrong, we have raised more than our goal and we also raised enough money for the other class below us to order their own yearbooks without going through the struggle we had to go through.
Another program I started is at my local library. The program is an author's workshop. An author comes every other week to put on a workshop such as how to write fiction or poetry. I created the club because I have this deep love for writing, any type of writing actually, and I just wanted to create a space for people who love writing, like me, and get the chance to meet with an author and learn from them.
My future career is a little fuzzy in my head right now, but I believe I have enough passion and motivation to get me somewhere in life.
