About me
Hi, I am from Peru and I have recently finished my PhD in Australia. I am a Molecular Biologist and also I have a big passion for social development so I launched the Ekpapalek project (www.ekpapalek.com) which empowers latin students by promoting their professional development. My mission is to help latin students by connecting them with sponsors that can host them for free while they do internships abroad and I also connect them with a red of mentors I have created. I made a video presenting the project, I share it here so perhaps you would like to see it: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CssZyH7fXMA).
On top of that I am advocate of gender equality, I am one of the current UN Women global champion for women economic empowerment and I have also a program for women empowerment in LatinAmerica. Our main activity is to go to high schools or organizations and bring talks and workshops about women economic empowerment. Our events are conducted by professional women with the aim to change the current women's role models (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGJh4kqPfBQ).
I am also involved in Women in Technology in Australia as part of the committee team of the Life Sciences chapter. Also, I work with Women International League for Peace and Freedom organizing and facilitating some webinars. I am ready to do what I am passionate about: I want to work developing programs that are involved in education and social development.
In summary, I am a scientist and a researcher but now I want to start working in the area of social development through the development/promotion of education, science and technology. I am currently trying to find an organization that shares my passion and vision for working for developing countries tackling poverty and promoting their development.
