A graduate of the University of Richmond (VA) T.C. Williams School of Law, Claire C. Carr has received numerous accolades for her work as an attorney over the past three decades. She has been selected as a Virginia Super Lawyer for each of the past three years, and in 2019, she was chosen as a 2019 Woman Leader in the Law by American Lawyer & Corporate Counsel magazine. Additionally, Claire C. Carr has earned recognition as a member of the Virginia Business Legal Elite and holds an AV rating from industry group Martindale-Hubbell.
In addition to her professional honors, Claire Carr stands out as an active member of the field who has lectured and presented on numerous insurance and workers’ compensation topics to her legal peers. She has held multiple executive positions with industry groups, twice serving as the Workers’ Compensation Committee chair for the National Retail and Restaurant Defense Association and leading as a member of the executive committee of the Virginia Workers' Compensation American Inn of Court since 2014.
Claire Carr has worked as an attorney with Kalbaugh, Pfund & Messersmith, PC, in Richmond, VA, since 1992. From 1992 to 1999 she handled 75 jury trials related to insurance cases before shifting her professional focus to workers’ compensation matters. She currently holds leadership positions in the law firm as a managing partner, shareholder, and vice president while guiding the Workers’ Compensation pPactice Group.
