For the most part I have had it easy. That doesn't mean I haven't had to work for things but I have never had to truly struggle. For this, I have many people to thank my parents, my siblings, my friends, and most of all the people that have fought for human rights before me.
I am afraid that with the election of Donald Trump he will work to push back all that our predecessors have done to advance women's and human rights. Whether he does this strictly through legislative changes or through his rhetoric it is something he can easily do in his position. As a female what I want to see from our president is someone who works to advance rights and equity for all within the country. In the most powerful position, President Trump should be using that power to improve the quality of life for everyone, not to reverse what presidents before him and activists have been working towards for so long.
As a female I am not less or more than anyone else. We are all equal.
