About me
Rupande was born in India and from a very young age had a fierce voice for the less fortunate; her interest primarily stemming from being physically and sexually abused at various stages of her life.
In 2002, Rupande came to the US in pursuit of her MBA. After working in the corporate sector for 10 years, and the birth of her daughter, Rupande quit her job to work for a local non-profit as a Domestic Violence Liaison. Today in her role, Rupande helps victims of domestic violence with access to resources and educates them on the vicious cycle of domestic violence. Rupande is also a writer, mainly on women’s and girl’s rights worldwide. Her writings have featured on various sites, including The Huffington Post and Stop Street Harassment. Rupande also works with various organizations worldwide, in various capacities, to empower women and raise awareness about their rights. For summer 2016, Rupande is interning with the Lt.
