About me
I am Maya and I enjoy working hard with people who care. I began my love of women empowerment when I started playing basketball and instantly realized the bias of the sport in sexualization and wages, and the burden that placed on women. Since 2005, I've volunteered for Hillary's campaign thrice and serve as a mentor for young girls on a daily basis through the Girls on the Run program. I reported on sexual assault on college campuses for my senior project in high school and as part of it, interviewed victims. The culminations of these profound experiences made me more aware of the role I must play in empowering other women and since then, I am committed to doing it.
