Preventing Suicide: Root out the lingering emotions that lead to despair

I was shocked and saddened to read of the recent death by suicide of Anthony Bourdain, world-famous chef and TV personality. Like many others, I enjoyed watching his culinary adventures on his TV series “Parts Unknown.” It was just a few days earlier that Kate Spade, the famous women’s accessories designer, hung herself as well.

Suicide is the ultimate violence, one that is self-perpetrated, an ultimate act of self-rejection and hopelessness. And it is becoming an epidemic. Sadly, suicide is now the 10th leading cause of death in the United States.

Suicide rates have been increasing for more than a decade in an alarming public health trend. A major cause of depression and suicide, I believe, is unresolved feelings from past traumatic and difficult life experiences – what I call “trapped emotions.” Life can be difficult and emotions can sometimes feel overwhelming. All of us experience negative emotional extremes at times. Unfortunately, the influence of these events can stay with us in the form of trapped emotions.

Sometimes, for reasons that we do not yet understand, emotions do not process completely. In these cases, instead of simply experiencing the emotion and then moving on, the energy of the emotion somehow becomes “trapped” within the physical body.

So instead of moving beyond your angry moment, or a temporary bout with grief or depression, this negative emotional energy can remain within your body, potentially causing significant physical and emotional stress. This includes the kind of deep-seated, long-lasting depression that leads people to consider suicide as a way out.

Suicidal thoughts are often caused by a buildup of these emotional energies that have literally become trapped in the body, exerting a hidden influence on the subconscious mind. Multiple trapped emotions can form a “Heart-Wall™” that prevents people from giving or receiving love, leading to numbness, anxiety, chronic despair, and depression that can manifest as suicidal thoughts and actions.

A Heart-Wall is made up of emotional energy that gets trapped in the body after traumatic events. Your body is an energy field. If you experience an emotion that is very powerful – grief or depression or anger or resentment – whatever emotion it is, if it is powerful enough, its energy can become trapped. Trapped emotional energy can cause many kinds of problems for you, even later in life. If you have trapped emotions, you probably have a Heart-Wall contributing to the unhappiness, anxiety, or depression you feel today.

A Heart-Wall is formed from layers of trapped emotions and each layer is unique. Each trapped emotion can be discovered and released with The Emotion Code – and when the layers are gone, the Heart-Wall is also gone. If you want to live life Heart-Wall free so that you can escape the negative feelings that lead to self-harming behaviors, you can learn to clear these energies safely and effectively with The Emotion Code. Doing so has helped many to feel love, hope, positivity, and more joy than they knew was possible, all because they took the time to clear the energy of their Heart-Wall.

Take these three steps to identify trapped emotions and dismantle Heart-Walls:

1. Do a simple muscle test as you ask if you have a Heart-Wall. This can be accomplished with the help of a Certified Emotion Code Practitioner (which you can find at, or you can do it on your own if you understand muscle testing. Muscle testing enables you to query the subconscious mind, which is the part of you that knows if you have a Heart-Wall.

2. Use the Chart of Emotions and the flow chart (supplied in the free Emotion Code ebook) to quickly and easily assess which emotions are trapped. Identify and release them one at a time.

3. To release the energy once it is discovered, run a magnet or your fingertips over any part of the Governing Meridian of your body or the body of the person you are clearing the energy from. This meridian is depicted within The Emotion Code. Repeat this process until you have cleared all of the trapped emotions and the Heart-Wall is gone.

By releasing trapped emotions and removing Heart-Walls, we have seen cases of severe depression eliminated once and for all, sometimes within a few days. When people are freed from the weight of these unseen emotional energies, they are able to live with a new sense of hopefulness, joy and peace.
