Us Indigenous Women are 3 times more likely to have experienced violence especially sexual violence in our lives despite the fact there isn't many of us left fewer than 2 million in America alone. The Aboriginals of Canada the numbers aren't much better. To quote a First Nations elder that rightfully went off on a rude reporter about the inaction of our abused, raped, trafficked, missing and murdered Girls/Women "You aren't the ones that are dying." It really is in every way discrimination to death that has been allowed to operate in impunity because the law frankly doesn't give a damn about us. The work I do I know that for 100% fact. We don't even have to be registered to a tribe, even if we're not but on paper we're Indigenous we get the same treatment as as those born and raised on the rolls as far as justice or rather injustice goes.
