I’m the kind of person who loves to set up a beauty routine, but then never actually goes through with it. Sometimes it’s because I get bored of doing the same steps over and over every day, sometimes I’m just tired and decide that there’s no harm in going to bed without doing my nighttime skincare routine. Because of this, throughout the years, figuring out a beauty routine for myself has proven to be a bit of a challenge, but I think I’m finally starting to get the hang of it. The key is to keep the products and routine simple, yet diverse (if that makes any sense..).
This means I only use about 4 different skincare products a day + the products I use when I shower, but I like to switch them up every once in a while by using ones with different textures, smells, colors etc., so I’m always trying new things.
In the mornings I use a light cleanser that isn’t too drying and a moisturizer. I have combination skin so using cleansers and face washes doesn’t really dry out my face more than it should.
If it’s the weekend or I happen to be at home, in the afternoon I’ll sometimes do a sheet mask or regular face mask, either charcoal, something brightening or just cooling. I don’t do this very often though, just because I can rarely find the time for it.
Before bed I use a face wash that is also a mild exfoliant, rinse it off and then put on an acne cream + lip balm.
If you have any suggestions for skincare products, let me know!
