Education in India

A greater demand for education calls for a strong foundation in schools so as to achieve the desired learning outcome.  Firstly, companies seem to be prioritizing areas of intervention emphasized by the government through the Right to Education Act (RTE), which has been criticized for focusing heavily Education Blog India on infrastructure and not enough on learning outcomes and pedagogy. Our research also shows that companies are responding to a demand for infrastructure-based support made by the schools themselves as they believe that this will increase enrolment numbers and help them become RTE compliant.

Although primary education in the country has been made free and compulsory for all children, in practice such a provision ensured by the government Latest Education News has no takers by a larger section of society in view of the lackadaisical attitude of the government and authorities in implementing the scheme.

However, remember, people in power always try to do the same: If India gets a BJP government at the centre next year, invariably they would start tinkering with the education system and impose their versions of what students should learn.

Though the progress made through the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and mission mode transition, especially in terms of infrastructure since the RTE Act was implemented cannot be discounted, yet, after 69 years of independence and School Education in India 5 years since the implementation of the Right to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE), the fundamental issues that our freedom fighters fought for within the education system still persist though in a different scenario.

Government funded schools in India have been run by different levels of government including panchayats, zilla parishads, municipal corporations, state governments and the central government (Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas, Sainik Schools etc..).
