DIY concrete gift ideas for your garden, home, friends and family that are easy to make and fun to give away.
This concrete owl is a fun project, but it takes in the region of three weeks to make and complete, because it is the best to allow the concrete to cure for a couple of days, while you work on your project.
I thoroughly wet my concrete project with a paintbrush and water before I continue with the freshly mixed concrete that I wish to add to the project, water acts as an adhesive between the wet and dry concrete, when all is done, I paint it with bonding liquid to seal the concrete.
The body of the owl has taken four weeks because I decided to close up the holes I drilled in for fairy lights and filled each hole with small diamond like beads that will glitter in the sun and add some sparkle to my garden.
I created a rustic looking pot to go on top of the concrete owl’s head, I made a hole inside for drainage, and succulents will be the perfect companion for my concrete owl’s head, as it is going into a sunnier spot in my garden. It could look great as a bird feeder or water bowl.
Owls are popular garden ornaments and I thoroughly enjoy this project, feel free to share your ideas and garden creations with me, you are most welcome to ask questions I will answer them to the best of my ability.
