We’re a vibrant team of Podcasters, Ultra-Marathoners, Dancers, Gin-Distillers, Students, Marshall-Artists and more, so we’re looking for people who want to be part of a diverse and ever changing team.
We are proud of our strong and diverse workforce and we are committed to supporting and further developing this diversity through attracting, recruiting, engaging and retaining diverse talent and aligning our culture and management systems with this commitment.
Collectively led - our culture is created, kept and advanced by each and every Team Member and this accountability extends to the creation and implementation of our Diversity and Inclusion Charter. In 2020 our team voiced their drive for us to do more so we created our Diversity and Inclusion Committee, a global team of volunteers who lead our collective commitment to creating an environment where all Team Members can truly thrive and feel comfortable bringing their full selves to Openpay.
Since our D&I Committee came together, they've driven and supported some amazing new initiatives which continue to create a sense of belonging for all. Some of these include:
Our Podcast - we have a regular internal podcast hosted by a Team Member where our team get to share their personal story.
Our Team Member Networks (TMNs) - workplace networks for team members with shared characteristics, special interests, or life experiences. These groups are critical to amplifying the diverse voices across our team.
Our current team member networks include:
Our learning - from expert external speakers, to ways to fight bias, to peer coaching circles, we all take accountability to develop own understanding of others.
At Openpay, our benefits vary slightly in each country that we operate in.

Flexible Working at Openpay
In 2020 we announced that the traditional 9-5 work day was out the window, embracing more flexibile options for our workforce in order to support better work/life outcomes.
While we do have some teams who work standard business hours in order to service our customers, we enable our team members to structure their day to best suit them in order to complete their work All that we ask is that the decision they make, considers what is in best interests of themselves, their immediate team and the company as a whole. How does that work? Well, for example, if a tech squad decided they were all attending a full day retro and one team member decided to work different hours to the team on that day, we would suggest they hadn't considered their teams best interests and it would be more appropriate to work alongside their team that day.
In addition to this Flexi-hours, we also offer:
Learning & Development
When you join Openpay, every team member is gifted with access to the LinkedIn Learning Platform and empowered to develop and learn new skills. Our internal Learning team also develop and deliver a wide range of soft-skills courses ranging from Identifying and Overcoming Unconscious Bias, Inclusive Language, through to Building Resilience and Giving and Receiving Feedback.
Health and Wellbeing
From Yoga to Budgeting, throughout the year, every team member has the opportunity to participate in regular virtual and in-person wellbeing activities. Promoting and supporting team member wellbeing is critical to delivering on our goal to create an environment which enables our people to thrive and which draws out the best in them to achieve high performance.
Our approach to wellbeing is built around these 6 principles:
We're a growing (yay!) Fintech which means our team are self-starters with high energy, motivation and focus on achieving targets. We wont lie - we work hard. We crave the unknown and are excited by the opportunity to challenge ourselves every day. As we grow, we change, so we're be flexible, willing to evolve as our systems and processes do. Always tenacious, we relentlessly pursue opportunities and will be quick to bounce back when we encounter setbacks (that's life). Most importantly, we're be kind. Our team appreciate each other and support each other with a strong team spirit.
Some of the ways we support this culture are:
Listening - both through structured, regular feedback surveys and team listening sessions as well as through our live Q&A's each month, which are part of our town hall meetings.
Action - We then take that feedback and turn it in to actions, with a growing list of initiatives and improvements coming as a direct result of what our team have said to us.
Fun - Throughout the year we have regular events, both virtually and in-person to encourage our our team members to come together, to celebrate our achievements and have fun.
Learning - We realise that as humans, we are learning all the time. At Openpay we provide team members with various opportunities to help build skills, gain knowledge and ultimately enhance their experience at Openpay.
Whether the focus is leadership, customer service, project management, professional or personal growth, all team members have access to a range of opportunities to grow their skills and progress their career.
Celebrating success - Our global recognition program provides team members with the opportunity to recognise and be recognised. With peer-to-peer and company-led recognition, we recognise our team for their contribution towards achieving business outcomes, by improving our workplace as well as recognising the moments that matter, in their lives.
We are a responsible brand by nature, and this is evident in how we respect our people, respect our customers, and also respect the environment.
We’re proud of our teams' efforts to create a positive impact on local and global communities. Some examples include:
OpenArms
Through the OpenArms Community Program, our team can contribute to community partners via company matched team member giving, structured volunteering, fundraising, vocational programs and pro bono support.
We’ve also formed partnerships with not-for-profit organisations who promote careers in technology for women, our indigenous communities and other minority groups. And during the catastrophic bushfires in Australia last year, we donated $100,000 to Wildlife Victoria.
Community Partnerships
With COVID-19 wreaking havoc on the retail sector, Openpay saw an opportunity to pay it forward and became a Corporate Partner to RetailTrust, the UK’s leading retail charitable organisation. Openpay passionately believes in and supports the Trust’s mission: to improve the lives of all involved in retail and its supporting service industries. In 2020, our team chose to donate the majority of their End of Year Party budget to the RetailTrust to support their beneficiaries over the Christmas period.
