About me
Lydia Acuna was born and raised in the Northern Mexican State of Sonora, but has been living in the United States since 2001. She currently lives in Los Angeles and works full time as a Client Advocate for "Language Access Network", a Technology company that is seeking to disrupt the Healthcare industry.
Lydia has a B.A. from UCLA in Latin American Studies & Political Science. A certificate in Business from UCLA Anderson and the summer of 2016, she obtained a certificate in Marketing & Digital Analytics from UCLA Extension.
Lydia is passionate about Education, Politics, Women's Rights and Technology. And believes that Technology will eventually allow women in developing countries to achieve anything they want.
Lydia's professional background is diverse & non-traditional. Since she graduated from collage at the age of 33, but during her 20's she was able to travel to many nations around the globe as a model & beauty pageant holder of Miss Latina US 2003. At the age of 25, Lydia started her own Mortgage Company in Salt Lake City, UT as one of the few female latino Mortgage brokers in the city. And sold her company in 2008, just before the market meltdown, to move to LA and complete her education at the school of her dreams.
Upon graduation from UCLA, Lydia decided to get an MBA and got admitted into USC Marshall School of Business with a small scholarship. However, she decided to defer her acceptance and focus on her start-up "CharmRoom", a health & beauty platform that was gaining traction among teenagers. Despite all of Lydia's efforts, the "CharmRoom" team had difficulties raising more capital and decided to part ways in January 2015.
Lydia started working at Language Access Network at the beginning of this year as a Client Advocate and she is planning to start a new business venture within the next two years while at the same time getting an MBA.
