About me
Before beginning her career as a speech-language pathologist (SLP), Kariel Thompson graduated with a bachelor of arts in psychology from the University of California, Irvine. While studying at the school, she served as a research assistant in the Cognitive Neuroscience Lab and garnered recognition as a member of the dean’s list. Kariel Thompson subsequently matriculated at California State University, Los Angeles, where she went on to earn a master of arts in communication disorders.
Following the completion of her graduate degree, she accepted a position with Julia Hobbs Speech Pathology in Los Angeles. Serving as clinical director of the practice, she oversaw the work and caseloads of a staff of therapists. She also drew on her graduate studies to assess and treat children diagnosed with or believed to have communication disorders and developmental disabilities.
Today, Kariel Thompson continues to serve as an SLP in Los Angeles. Practicing independently, she provides intervention tailored to the needs of each client. In doing so, she works to involve the families of children, offering them training designed to augment her clinical services.
