Systems Integration Project Manager

At IBM we are currently looking for a Systems Integration Project Manager who will be responsible for successful delivery of IBM's systems integration projects, including cloud-related modernisation and migration and digital transformation type projects.

You will manage client engagements, ensuring delivery of solutions for IT, business and client requirements. This role will see you take responsibility for leading the project team in delivering a solution to the client with responsibility for managing scope, cost, schedule, quality as well as contractual deliverables, which includes applying techniques for planning, tracking, change control, and risk management.

You will be responsible for managing project resources, including offshore global delivery resources, vendors and subcontractors and for establishing an effective communication plan with the project team and the client. You provide day to day direction to the project team and regular project status updates to the client. This person is expected to have strong client facing skills including governance and negotiation capabilities.

The Systems Integration Project Manager is recognised for handling unique situations and assisting others on the team by mentoring and helping develop less experienced project management staff.

Key skills and experience:
  • At least 4+ years of Project Management experience.
  • Managed all project phases (initiating, planning, executing, monitoring & controlling, closing) and participated in concept/proposal phase.
  • Managed project teams with at least 6 Full-time staff per month over a 12 month period.
  • Demonstrated experienced level in project planning, tracking and reporting; deliverables reflect superior quality standards and drive client satisfaction; ability to consistently meet financial (including revenue and gross profit) targets; and ability to manage project risks, issues and dependencies.
  • Ownership and reconciliation of monthly project financials, managing and delivering to overall project price case.
  • Experience in managing distributed teams (onshore, offsite/offshore).
  • Experience in managing subcontractors and subcontract agreements.
  • Demonstrated passion for the business, client insight, breakthrough thinking, drive to achieve, team leadership, teamwork, decisiveness, building organisational capabilities, developing talent, and personal dedication.
  • Successfully managed multidisciplinary teams. Recognised as a positive influence among teammates and have ability to lead others.
  • Experience managing Agile, and/or hybrid Agile/traditional projects.

Desired skills and experience:
  • Project Management or equivalent certification eg. PMI, PRINCE2, Managing Successful Programmes (MSP).
  • Agile project delivery related certification eg. SAFe.
  • At least 2+ years of Technical / Business / Industry related experience.
  • Experience managing Cloud-related projects (eg. on IBM Cloud, AWS, MS Azure or other platforms), for example legacy modernisation, application migration, new development.
  • Experience with digital transformation projects.
