Summary Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records. Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons. Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers. Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Routes items to departments. Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications. Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies. Operates; forklift or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area. Operates the scale to weigh count of incoming shipment to verify the quantity. Stock the material from floor to warehouse location, pulling material from location to shop floor. Keep daily inventory activities in log and forward to Receiving Clerk to enter into computer, and use SAP to inquiry the inventory status.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three months related experience and/or training
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
